Los Angeles to San Francisco – This adventure is perfect for a person who has limited time and budget, but still wants to get the most out of the trip. It covers the majority of the most visited places of the western states like California, Nevada and Arizona. You will visit two most popular national parks of the US – Yosemite and Grand Canyon.
Day 1: Los Angeles / Santa Monica
Our adventure begins at 7am in the hostel. After a welcome meeting and a tour overview, we are off for a city orientation. We will see the highlights of Los Angeles, including Hollywood Walk of Stars, TCL Chinese Theatre (formerly known as Grauman’s Chinese Theatre) and Beverly Hills. We will also see the Hollywood sign. After lunch, we head out of the city and across the San Bernardino Valley towards the desert and stop at Joshua Tree for a visit. Tonight we set camp along the Colorado River.

Day 2: Grand Canyon
We get an early start today and spend most of our time in Grand Canyon National Park, known as one of The Seven Natural Wonders of the World. You will have a most of the afternoon to explore the Canyon, ride a bike or take a hike down to the Canyon. We meet tonight for sunset at a special point along the Canyon.

Day 3: Route 66 / Las Vegas
This morning you will watch the sunrise or do a short hike. Today we set out on Route 66 and visit the towns of Oatman or Seligman, AZ, and soak up a bit of ’50s Americana. After lunch, we head to Las Vegas, aka Sin City. Tonight, you have the option to cruise the Strip on a party bus.

Day 4: Las Vegas
Today is your free day to explore the gambling capital of the world, Las Vegas. On the Strip you can find famous shows, the Mobster Museum, art galleries, and numerous night clubs for your entertainment. If last night’s schedule made you feel somewhat tired, then take a day off and relax by the pool.

Day 5: Death Valley/Mammoth Lakes
Leaving Las Vegas early, we make our way towards Death Valley National Park and the Mojave Desert. Spending most of the day exploring the Valley, including the Sand Dunes, salt flats, Zabriskie Point and Bad Water Basin. Tonight, we camp just outside the Sierra Nevada mountain town of Mammoth lakes.

Day 6: Yosemite
We start our beautiful but busy day early. There are many amazing hiking trails and swimming spots along the Merced River, or there are bikes for rent with over 15 miles of paved trails to ride. In the morning you will see Half Dome, El Capitan, and the great Yosemite Falls. After lunch, we will go on a hike through the redwoods. Tonight we have a BBQ.

Day 7: Yosemite/San Francisco
The last early start, so much to do and so little time. After lunch we will see the highlights of the City by the Bay, including the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf, Chinatown, Japantown, or visit the Dungeons of the city. You will also have a chance to take a ride on a Cable Car. We meet up tonight for a goodbye dinner and fun. Couples may book a private room at the hostel.

Day 8: San Francisco
The tour ends today at 9 am. If you have a later flight tonight, the hostel can hold your bags until it is time for you to leave for the airport. We highly recommend staying for a couple extra days and explore many more sites the city has to offer.
